MORE ABOUT ERIC EVERETT ? GOOD GRIEF !

Well, sometimes people just wanna know so you can't say I didn't have enough info....well you CAN, and I'll be glad to post more, but in the meantime us artist types like to work for a living so hopefully this will help illustrate how I might be able to fit in with your artistic needs!

The Music Bio

Guitar in hand, Eric headed out of his hometown of Milwaukee in 1985 to present his musical ideas to audiences around Europe and the US. He was challenged to define one category for his blend of rock, folk and funky-blues, but withstood the pressure to follow the trends and concentrated on the lyrical message. EE made friends with others from this school of thought like the Indigo Girls who shared their stages with him. From the clubs of Atlanta, the road led to a theatre degree in New York where he's writing/ designing/ producing/ directing rock musicals into videos while playing with the Eric Everett Band in the New York City area and performing solo-acoustic shows up & down the coast. The release of his CD, Dreams To Be in '95 spread EE music across college and internet radio while the songs placed high in national contests. With the '99 release of a CD of Earth-rock-for-kids called Animal Party under the alias of "Triple E", he's riding a wave of recognition from the New York Times and other papers. After recently completing a TV pilot based on the CD musical, you may be hearing Triple E rock on a cable station near you so stay tuned!

The Theatre Bio

Although I have been involved in theatre productions since I was a little guy, I owe my high school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin many thanks for enchanting me with the spirit of the theatre. ( It is actually one of the best theaters in the state! ) I dived in further in college at the State University of New York at Purchase. While there exploring all the arts, I wrote and directed four plays and a musical and produced numerous other performances and videos as Director of the Purchase Experimental Theater. During this time I was also the Technical Director for the Humanities Theater and a teaching assistant. I spent one summer as an Intern at the world-renown Seven Stages theater in Atlanta doing a little bit of everything. After graduation, I spent the next 9 years teaching at the Dunn Performing Arts Center which is part of the Rye Country Day School in Rye, NY (about 40 minutes north of Manhattan) .

I taught in many areas at RCDS. My primary focus was on the technical side, designing sets, lighting and sound for the productions while teaching Stagecraft for 7th - 12th grade ( design, use of shop tools, scene painting, lighting & sound equipment ). I also taught general Drama / Acting courses for 6 - 8th grade. Our production schedule also included dance and music concerts and assembly programs of every shape and size from touring shows.

I continued to create my own shows during this time by writing, directing and producing 2 musicals and performing music as a singer/ songwriter. Nearly all of my shows have been transformed into video-movies as well. The two sides of my life finally came together with the creation of my CD Animal Party which included over 200 students & faculty singing and acting in the musical story. This CD is also an informative way to teach about the Earth's environment and conservation. I am now pursuing ways to bring this type of drama / music interaction to more stages as well as those on the TV screen.
